Day 65

Yesterday was Scale Day again. And as became usual nowadays, we all lost again. Eldest lost .3 kg, while Youngest lost .6 kg. The Wife lost 1kg round, and I chucked away 1.2 kg. We are all still going in the right direction!

I've decided to log on to Original Eating, and request an example diet for myself, based on my current weight, height, and target weight. I also mentioned a max carbs of 50 g a day. A few hours later I got my 1-day plan, and was slightly shocked! Here is what they recommended me, versus what I eat on an average day:

Breakfast:
Plan - 2 scrambled eggs; 6 tbsp butter; 0.5 cup sauted baby marrows, mushrooms and red peppers
What I Eat - 2 eggs, .5 tbsp butter; 2 rashers of bacon,.5 tbsp lard; half an avocado.
Notes: OK, I definitely eat too much breakfast, yet not enough fat... Or so it seems.

Snack 1:
Plan - 30g rolled ham/ shaved chicken; 2 small plum(s); 210g avocado
What I Eat - Um, snack? So early after breakfast? Seriously?
Notes: OK, let's combine this with breakfast. Replace the ham/chicken with bacon. OK, now my breakfast is not too big. Yippee!

Lunch:
Plan - 60g beef patty (use grated mushrooms instead of bread crumbs); 6tbsp olive oil; 2 cup coleslaw (green cabbage, cucumber, spring onions and peppers)
What I Eat - Nothing
Notes: Lunch sounds nice. But what if I'm not hungry? Do I really have to? Nah, easier to just skip lunch!

Snack 2:
Plan - 30g tuna; 75g pumpkin seeds and pine nuts
What I Eat - Sometimes an orange, or a piece of biltong, or a tomato, or a few cherry tomatoes... You get the picture
Notes: Comes to about the same, but mine is nicer!

Supper:
Plan - 90g grilled Hake (crumb free); 0.5 cup carrot and leek stir fry (grated carrots, shredded leaks,
with a light soya sauce); 6tbsp lemon butter sauce; 1 cup sauted long green beans in garlic
What I Eat - A piece of fish; some cauli-mash; half a gem squash; spinach - All in butter
Notes - OK, this comes to about the same. But soya sauce in the stir fry? Seriously?

Evening:
Plan - 25g macadamia nuts
What I Eat - Nothing
Notes: Dinner was enough, thank you. Don't feel like snacking!

Final Notes: I definitely eat less than 50 g carbs a day, comparing my average daily menu against the one sent to me. I eat much less actual food, but also less fat, so not only is my carb intake low, I also take in a lot less calories than what I am "supposed" to take in. But hey, it works for me. When I'm hungry, I'll eat, when not hungry, no need to eat!
