Earlier this week both me and my wife went to the doc. We were both starting to feel sick (she more than me), and experience have taught me to visit the doc before the virus gets into my chest. Due to my heart failure, I quickly land up in hospital should I get a bad bronchitis.
The doctor gave us two different anti-biotics each, as well as cortisone tablets. Knowing the effect of cortisone on ones weight, I feared the effect. At least, we both thought, if we do pick up weight this week, we know why.
It was a tough week. For the first time since being on LCHF, I actually got hungry during the day. The Wife actually got hungry during the night! I know I ate more than usual this last week, but I kept it all legal. Avocado's saved my week! And cherry tomatoes. Don't forget the cherry tomatoes. Then it was Sunday morning, and time to weigh ourselves.
What an incredible surprise! The girls I expected would lose (Youngest lost 1.3 kg, while Eldest lost 1.4 kg). The wife also lost 1.4 kg, but somehow I managed to throw of an amazing 3.1 kg this week! Much better than the half kilo I lost last week.
Maybe we will only see the effect of the cortisone next week, but I hope not. At least we finish the last of the tablets today. Hopefully, once the medication is finished, the hunger in the afternoons will stop as well. It almost felt like a traditional diet this last week. Only, the food still tasted a lot better!
