Last night The Wife made incredibly nice spinach. I normally love spinach, but last night's was just so much better! Wonder if it was the crumbled feta she placed on top of it? The only thing that would have made it nicer was if she placed a giant black mushroom (fried in butter) underneath it!
Men's health had an article on banting which I read today. I don't know how much they payed the journalist who wrote it, but I believe it was too much. Paying anything for that shoddy investigation is too much. Here is the reply I placed on their Facebook page:
"I've
started on the LCHF diet (banting diet) on the 1st of June. My weight,
when I started, was in excess of 200 kg. I don't know what it was,
because my scale only goes to 200. I used to constantly nibble on stuff
through the day because I've always been hungry. I ate huge portions at meal times.
Since
starting banting, I'm only eating mornings and evenings. And I'm not
hungry through the day. I've lost 7 cm around my chest already, and last
Sunday I finally got my weight: 200.3 kg!
My
portions went smaller without me making a conscious decision to make
them smaller. I simply was not as hungry as always. I used to drink up
to four panado's at night for muscle pain (would wake up with sore legs
in the middle of the night). I haven't had a single pain tablet since.
Don't need them anymore.
In
hundreds of studies between low-fat and low-carb diets, low-carb wins
every time. Believe me, I've done some serious research online!
The
Swedish government changed their official dietary policies from low-fat
to high-fat-low-carb after studying the results of 16,000 studies in
this regard. They took two years before making this decision, so it was
not a "spur of the moment" thing..."
I am still waiting for their reply...
