Day 3

Had a bad night again last night. Slept open until after 1:00. Maybe it is because my body is busy decarbing? I hope so. I also feel a lack of energy. That I expected. I've read on other blogs some people going through the same tired feeling in the first week or so. However, nobody mentioned getting hot at night (and no, not THAT kind of hot! ;-) ).

So, yesterday we only had some biltong for lunch again. But I did feel the need to snack. Old habits. So I had one orange, and a Granny Smith apple during the afternoon. Dinner was lasagne. Maybe it's because I love aubergines, but lasagne with aubergines tastes a hell of a lot nicer than the traditional pasta-based lasagne.

This morning I had two poached eggs, a thick slice of bacon fried in lard, and button mushrooms with cherry tomatoes fried in butter. And bulletproof coffee... The coffee is getting a bit much for me now. Three cups in 3 days! Maybe I should have bulletproof cocoa...

Anyway, this morning on the Banting For A Healthy Living page on Facebook, a lady named Elouise Bellingan Hattingh posted this:

"Welcome to Newcomers! What to do now: The most of us will probably tell you to buy Prof Noakes' book, Real Meal Revolution. Then you'll understand the reason behind it all and it makes decisions about foods and meals so much easier. This life style is based on High fat, Medium protein, Low carb. Immediately remove the following from your house: bread, breakfast cereal, cakes and biscuits, chocolate and sweets, couscous, dried fruit, fruit juices, lentils, legumes, margarine, rice, pasta, pastry, peanuts, potatoes, sugar, sunflower oil. Then start eating real food: Avos, Bacon, Butter, Biltong, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Coconut oil, Cream, Stevia or Xylitol, Extra virgin olive oil, Fish, Free-range eggs, full fat Greek yoghurt, meat and chicken, nuts (not peanuts or cashews) and spinach. Scroll down on this group and read as many of our posts as you can. Some get a bit technical, but just get the central idea of it. When you start eating this way, you will feel full for longer, so only eat when your hungry and until you're full. It will eventually only be twice a day. Good luck xxx"

Very good advice. Thank you, Elouise!
