The Star had an article posted on the 4th (I only saw it today) about LCHF diets, with the following heading:
How low-carb diets wrecked our health
Right below, they started with:As women reveal how they suffered fertility problems, thin hair and fragile bones, do YOU still fancy a trendy high-protein diet?
And just there they already show their own ignorance. "TRENDY HIGH-PROTEIN DIET". They then mention Atkins and Paleo by name. Had they done any research, they would have found LCHF stands for Low Carb, High Fat. Each and every own of those people followed a Low Carb, Low Fat, High Protein diet. What did they think was going to happen? Yeah, sure, you do lose weight, but you feel miserable and weak the whole time, and all that protein plays havoc with your kidneys. Please, dear reader, do NOT fall in that trap. If you cut your carbs, you need to get your energy from someplace else. And that someplace else is fat. That is why the diet is a High Fat diet. Teach your body to burn fat for energy instead of carbs, and before you realize it your body starts burning body fat for energy. Carbs are easy energy for your body. As long as you take carbs, your body is going to keep on craving carbs for energy, and not burn body fat. It is as simple as that. Really, I promise! And if you don't believe me, do your own research. There are more than 16,000 studies out there that proves the same thing.
For a last thought, when did the Low Fat High Carbs craze hit the world? Somewhere in the early 70's. When did obesity started rearing its ugly head? Somewhere in the mid to late 70's. Connect the dots yourself...
