Day 33

Banting is a success story for so many people, I have decided to have a Q&A with a lady named Bernice van Reenen who's been banting for fourteen months now. She started off wanting to lose a total of around 45 kilos. That is around 100 pounds, for those who do not use the metric system. In the fourteen months she's been banting, Bernice has already lost an amazing 36 kg. Here is what she had to say:

Sam: How often did you try dieting before discovering banting?
Bernice: I have tried various diets from weigh-less to counting calories and turning grey in the process

Sam: What was the longest you stayed on a traditional diet before banting?
Bernice: Maybe not longer than 3 months cause I was looking for a quick solution

Sam: How did you discover banting?
Bernice: via fb

Sam: Do you have special cheat days, and if so, how often?
Bernice: oh I love cheat days once a week normal; on the weekend after a marathon

Sam: What, if anything, do you miss most of your old lifestyle?
Bernice: I miss nothing about my old lifestyle & I am been honest

Sam: What other positive side-effects did you discover from Banting, except for the weight loss?
Bernice: I had more energy & was not craving rubbish

Sam: Was there any negative side-effects?
Bernice: No not really it made me more positive than anything else

Sam: What was most difficult during your banting experience up to now?
Bernice: Most difficult time is when you hit plato

Sam: Are you a lone banter, or is it a family affair?
Bernice: It is a family affair

Sam: How did the rest of your family take to this lifestyle?
Bernice: My family adjusted perfectly but remember I never made a huge change at once I did it monthly.

Sam: Except for the obvious delight at losing weight, what do you enjoy most about banting?
Bernice: I LOVED THE COMPLIMENTS ♡ cause they made me want it more and more

Sam: Once you reach your target weight, will you move back to a more general diet? Or, if you stay on this lifestyle, is their anything specific you want to add to your diet that was previously a no-no?
Bernice: Because it is a lifestyle change there is no go back cause we now socialize with aerobics ppl

Sam: What is currently your favorite meal?
Bernice: Mmh my favorite meal is braaied pork chops with pap gravy & salad. That is a weekend meal cause we do live in Swaziland so braai time it is.

Sam: Bulletproof Coffee. Do you or don't you? What about Fat Bombs?
Bernice: I don't drink coffee I drink rooibos tea or now the new vanilla rooibos tea with honey

Sam: Was there ever a time in the past 14 months since you started that you considered stopping, and if so, why? What convinced you to continue?
Bernice: Never cause when I started I used to wear a size 26 jean so my husband took me shopping and I bought a size 18 then he bought me a size 16 and I used to look at them weekly wanting to fit into them and when I squeezed into the 18 I wanted to loose and tone more then came time to try squeeze into the 16 and there was no need for a squeeze they fitted perfectly

Sam: Finally, and tips or words of encouragement with your fellow banters out there?
Bernice: My tip is so not say you on a diet please cause then everyone monitors what you put in your mouth and that irritates me. You begin with 1 change every month and when you look again you have done it without anyone noticing. ..............

Bernice: Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to answer your question and for allowing me to post my transformation.

No, Bernice, thank you for telling us your success story, because it is success stories like yours that help the rest of us to keep going!
