Day 106

Another good week for the Hearn Family. I lost .8 kg, while The Wife lost .9 kg. Youngest lost 1.2 kg, but Eldest whipped us all by losing 2.1 kg. So, everything is still going in the right direction!

I have seen a few posts on the boards about people who try LCHF for a week, then complain that they did not lose anything. These people also are the ones needing to lose only 5 kg or so. I have decided to ignore those people, when they complain that banting does not work. They are looking for a fad diet to quickly lose a few kilo's, so they can return to their wicked ways. They do not understand this is a lifestyle, and not just a simple diet. And they don't want to understand that.

But some may ask, why is it so difficult to lose weight while banting when you have so little to lose? It is easy to explain. Banting is not the type of diet that lets you lose weight no matter what. It is the type of diet where your body decide how much it wants to lose. And we all have been brainwashed as to what a healthy weight really is.

A while ago I watched a documentary about weight loss and diets, and in there they mentioned a study that was done on life insurance data. The data of over fifty thousand people who died of natural causes were collected, and it was found people who were (according to the charts) overweight by about 2 to 5 kilograms tend to live longer than people who were the so-called perfect weight.

So if you only have 5 kilo's to lose, and banting does not "work for you", maybe you should consider that your body do not want to lose that last bit, because it needs it for optimal health. Just a thought. Use it, don't use it... ;-)
