Day 134

After taking a break of two weeks from my blog, I have returned. And these two weeks I've been on holiday, quite a few things happened. For one thing, a lot of the items from the banting Green List was moved to the Orange List, then moved back again. This confused a number of people, but it all made sense to me. And it did not affect me at all, either.

The items moved almost all were dairy. And people have found that when they don't lose weight, dairy usually was the culprit. We have already limited our dairy intake, being aware of this even before these changes. Were they right in changing the lists? Probably not, but people had to be made aware of this danger area. And I believe they have succeeded in that.

So, back to us, how did the weight loss go? Pretty good, like usually for us. I have lost a total of 1.6 kg over the three weeks, for an average of over half a kilo per week. The first week I actually picked up 400g, but managed to throw it off again, with interest.

The Wife lost exactly 4 kg over the three weeks (1.6 kg, 700g, & 1.7 kg). Eldest lost 2.2 kg over the last two weeks, as she have lost nothing (and gained nothing) the week before. These last two weeks she lost 1.6 kg and 600g respectively.

Youngest lost 2.2 kg in that first week, then went on a school camp for a weekend. When she returned, she picked up 1.2 kg. This weekend, though, she lost an amazing 4.5 kg! This makes me wonder, did the carbs she ate last weekend maybe push up her metabolism, causing her to lose so much this week? Definitely something worth investigating. Her major drawback on Sunday was having headaches, probably from the sudden higher carb intake.

Lots of people have found visiting non-banting family for a meal to be problematic. Most people don't understand why we eat the way we do, and how we can have the results we do. They have been completely brainwashed into believing saturated fat is bad for your health. We don't have that problem, at least not with the in-laws.

Two weeks ago we visited them for lunch. We decided on a braai. To go with it, my sister-in-law made a cauliflower & broccoli salad, a green salad, and she also baked brown mushrooms (lot's of cheese, garlic, and other things I can't remember). Her husband loves potato bake, and potato salad, but they made neither, wanting to give us a nice banting braai and not wanting to lead us into temptation. How many of you can claim such nice in-laws?
