What a tough two weeks! Two weeks ago we, as a family, went through a very stressful situation. Last week we still had a lot of stress, but not nearly as much as the week before. So, why am I mentioning something totally non-banting on my banting blog? Because it had a definite, if temporary, effect on our weight.
Even though we went through a stressful week two weeks ago, we did not eat any different from normal. Yes, the urge to binge eat was present, but we managed to keep ourselves in line. Come Sunday, it was time to weigh. That's when we got the bad surprise...
I picked up two kilo's, while The Wife picked up 1.5 kg. Eldest still lost, 0.6 kg in her case, while Youngest picked up 0.5 kg. Yesterday we all worried about what Mr. Scale was going to say. We did not need to. I lost 3.6 kg for a total loss of 1.6 kg over the two weeks, while The Wife lost 2.4 kg to bring her total lost to 0.9 kg. Eldest lost 1.1 kg (total 1.7 kg) while Youngest lost 1.6 kg for a total of 1.1 kg over the two weeks.
What can we learn from this? Sudden high stress can definitely cause you to pick up weight, even when you do not eat anything different from usual. This extra weight, however, I believe, is all water and quickly thrown off again!
I have decided to list, with each post, the totals each of us have lost since starting this wonderful lifestyle on June 1, 2014. Because I don't know what exactly my starting weight was, I work from a conservative guess of 205 kg. I believe I actually was 2 or so kg heavier than that. So, for those interested, here it is:
Sam - 37.1 kg
The Wife - 36.8 kg
Eldest - 23.3 kg
Youngest - 28.7kg
